Lamination
The lamination of a fabric is a textile finishing process that consists of bonding one or more layers of materials onto a base fabric in order to give it specific properties (technical, aesthetic, or functional).
Lamination makes it possible to:
- Achieve waterproofing or a breathable barrier
- Improve mechanical resistance or durability
- Add insulating properties (thermal or acoustic)
- Modify the visual appearance or hand feel
- Stabilize the fabric for technical applications (garments, textile architecture, automotive, etc.)
